Movie Character Cosmic spores appear in Earth's atmosphere and feed off of satellites that patrol it. When they arrive on Earth, they begin feeding off of coal and diamonds. Dogora, a jellyfish-like organism from space, is going after Earth's carbon, in a story that pulls more from cosmic terror, H.P. Lovecraft, and H.G. Wells than the typical Japanese atomic monster movie. Personally, that originality elevates it among Toho's kaiju films and I consider Dogora my third favourite kaiju after Godzilla and Mothra.
